Core Aeration
Core Aeration is the process of making thousands of small holes in the turf. We perform this service in the fall.
This allows fertilizer nutrients, water and oxygen to reach the root zone more effectively and opens up compacted soil to increase root development.
A healthier, more established root system results in stronger grass plants with more resistance to weeds, pests and summer heat and drought stress.
-
Improved Soil Drainage
Aeration helps water move more easily through the soil. This reduces puddling, run off and can help with lawn disease control in high-moisture areas.
-
Reduces Thatch Layer
Thatch is a mixture of dead grass, roots and other organic matter that can hinder water, air and nutrient movement in the soil.
Too much lawn thatch can create a breeding ground for lawn disease and moisture.
-
Disease Resistance
A well aerated lawn is less susceptible to lawn diseases because of improved air flow and reduced sruface moisture build-up.
-
Improved Nutrient Uptake
Improved soil structure allows nutrients to move more freely, making them more accessible to the roots of grass plants.
